Ibovespa advances to 188 thousand points and accumulates a 3% increase this week

The Ibovespa closed the trading session on April 2, 2026, with a slight increase of 0.05%, reaching 188,052.02 points. In the week ending on this date, the main index of the Brazilian stock exchange accumulated a gain of 3.58%, reflecting the continuation of the positive movement in the national stock market.

Meanwhile, the spot dollar recorded a slight rise of 0.06%, being quoted at R$ 5.1599 at the end of April 2. Still, in the weekly analysis, the U.S. currency depreciated by 1.56% against the real, indicating a trend of strengthening of the Brazilian currency in the short term.

The price of Brent crude oil for June also showed a significant increase. It closed quoted at US$ 109.03, which corresponds to a 7.77% rise on April 2 alone. Over the week, oil appreciated by 3.52%, influencing global markets and sectors related to energy.

In the automotive sector, Tesla delivered 358,023 electric vehicles worldwide in the last quarter, a number lower than the forecast of 368,900 units made by analysts from Visible Alpha. This mark represents the second consecutive annual drop in sales for the American automaker, signaling challenges for the company in these indicators.

Embraer, on the other hand, registered significant growth in deliveries of its aircraft. There were 44 units delivered in the quarter, an increase of 47% compared to the same period in 2025. Of these, 10 aircraft were destined for commercial aviation, demonstrating expansion in the segment.

The Votorantim group stood out with a net profit of approximately R$ 4.8 billion in 2025, a value almost six times higher than that recorded in 2024. In addition, the company reported a record cash balance of around R$ 15 billion by the end of last year.

In the health sector, Hapvida’s board members are expected to receive around R$ 57 million in 2026, the third highest amount paid by companies listed on the Ibovespa. This amount equates to about 20% of the profit estimated by the company for the current year.

Regarding the public sector, the National Congress converted into law 23% of the provisional measures issued during President Lula’s third term. One of the enacted regulations, Law 15.369/2026, aims at the concentration of school infrastructure according to recent data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

Finally, Petrobras’ liquefied gas auction, held on March 31, sold 70,000 tons of the product. At the Reduc complex, in Rio de Janeiro, the premium recorded exceeded 100%. Despite the announcement of some operation cancellations, the state-owned company continues to deliver liquefied gas to distributors across the country.

Motiva signed a contract to acquire the Fernão Dias Highway for the amount of R$ 381,375,069.26. However, the company may be required to pay a price adjustment of up to R$ 19,587,000, according to a precautionary measure determined by the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU).

The Regional Bank of Brasília (BRB) filed a reimbursement claim of R$ 12 billion with the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The amount refers to a financial contribution made to credit portfolios considered fraudulent. On April 2, BRB sent a letter to Minister André Mendonça detailing the request for recovery of the amounts.

Hapvida will hold an assembly on April 30 to decide on the adoption of multiple voting in the election for the Board of Directors. The request was made by shareholders holding more than 5% of the company’s share capital, aiming to allow investors to have greater influence in choosing board members.

In the political arena, Deputy Tabata Amaral stated that the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) will have as its main strategy for the 2026 elections the contest for seats in the National Congress. This statement indicates a focus on strengthening the party legislatively during the campaign.

Wall Street indices closed without a defined direction on April 2, following statements by former President Donald Trump. He adopted a tougher tone against Iran at the beginning of the month, disappointing market expectations for a possible end to the conflict between the two countries. These geopolitical tensions influenced volatility in financial markets.

Finally, the AtlasIntel Institute reported that the Senate race in Paraná is very balanced. Candidates Gleisi Hoffmann, Deltan Dallagnol, and Filipe Barros appear statistically tied in voting intentions, pointing to a highly competitive election that promises to stir the state political scene.
